Rihanna
has given us a Thursday thrill by posting a snippet of a new song called
"Higher" from an unknown album on Instagram.
"Higher" sounds like a big, glossy throwback to classic R&B
songs, with swelling strings and RiRi's throaty voice hitting us in all the
right places. Alas, it's only a few seconds long. It's just the latest tease
Rihanna's given us about her upcoming album, which reportedly also features a
song that samples from Florence + the Machine. RiRi's no slouch when it comes
to social media, so she's been peppering her Twitter timeline and Instagram
account with details here and there about her next album.
"Higher" is an interesting counterpoint to the song released earlier
today, "Dancing
In The Dark," for the cutesy animated flick Home. We can't
wait to get our paws on her new album, and we're totally Unapologetic about it.
